Our Garden

I have to admit that I have not been the "Gardener" that I am suppose to be. The deal was that Nate would build the garden and help plant and I was to maintain it, and know what to do with it. I took a little gardening class to help my understanding of how to grow a garden in the desert, which helped, but it did not motivate me enough to do what I said I would to. But despite my lack of effort we do have an outstanding Garden and Nate has become quite the green thumb. This year we got started early and even planed some plants from seed. We have already been able to enjoy some of our tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, green pepper, and green onion. We are soon going to have tomatoes growing out our ears. We wanted to try lots of different kinds of tomatoes and I think we have 7 - 10 tomato plants. We also planted basil, peas, red peppers, jalapenos, zucchini and watermelon. Now that it is getting so hot it will be interesting to see what will last.

Anyway I wanted to put a little shout out for Nate and all his hard work. The construction, maintenance, de-bugging and hard work is greatly appreciated. Carter too has become quite the green thumb with his own gloves and tools to help daddy.

Carter is 3 years old

I cant believe my little guys is 3. He is so much fun and is just turning into the cutest little guy ever. We didn't really do anything since his birthday was on Sunday. He got to go to Father's and Sons and had a blast so that was a nice celebration to spend time with dad. After church we opened presents. He loved that and wanted to play with each present, but we were excited to give him his BIG present:

As you can see he loves it. He is still figuring out the whole turning and which direction you want to go, but I am sure he will get it with time.

We got to talk with family and he even blew out the candles on his birthday cookie (we don't like cake at our house). It was a great day!!

Father and Sons weekend

Nate and Carter attended our wards Father and sons camp out. Carter was super excited and kept talking about it all day. He helped me pack and was so excited when daddy got home from work so they could go camping. I was SO wonderful to have a few hours by myself, but I missed them so much. It was the first time that I had been away from Carter and Nate. Carter gave me tons of hugs and said "bye mom". He was just so excited to be with dad and go camping.

I took advantage of my time and did some shopping for Carter's birthday, cleaned, read, and just vegged out. I was in bed by 10:30 and the best part of all is that I got to sleep in and woke up at 8:30 am. I missed them terribly, but Allie kept me company until they got home. Carter had so much fun. He told me all about it and especially loved sleeping in the tent and that they watched a movie (back up in case he would not go to sleep on his own). Carter did not want to leave he had so much fun, but zonked out on the way home. I am so glad that they had fun and were able to have a little father son time. It was a great way to celebrate Carter's birthday and Mother's day

sleeping

Carter is definitely a morning person and has been getting up on average around 6am. Some time earlier and sometimes a little later. Needless to say he is still taking his naps because he needs them. He will fall asleep anywhere, and we got some cute pictures of him.

They were waiting for me to get ready and Carter kept laying on Nate and the getting up and finally he just stayed there. He probably slept on Nate for 45 minutes and then moved to the bed and slept for another hour. Too cute

Carter usually falls asleep on the way home from Church. We usually try our hardest to keep him awake so we can put him down when we get home. This was actually on his birthday and we wanted him to have a good nap so he could enjoy his birthday. So Nate took the car seat out and carried him into the house. He probably slept for 2 hours in that position. He is an amazing sleeper, just likes to get up early.
